Firefox and Thunderbird

This procedure assumes that you have a working Fedora installation and you have configured yum to use rpm.livna.org

Installing Thunderbird

In the terminal window enter the following.

Once installed Thunderbird can be found at "Applications->Internet->Thunderbird Email".
Configuring Thunderbird

In the upper menubar, select "Applications->Internet->Thunderbird Email".
In the Import window, select the Netscape 6, 7 or Moxilla 1.x radio button or select Don't import anything. That decision will be dictated by your installation. Then select "Next."

In the Import window once Import Complete is displayed, select "Finish".

In the Account Wizard "New Account Setup" window, select the "Email Account" radio button. Then select "Next".
In the Account Wizard "Identity" window, fill in the required infromation. The information may be found on you ISPs FAQ or with your e-mail provider as in the case of Gmail. Then select "Next".

In the Account Wizard "Server Information" window, fill in the required infromation. The information may be found on you ISPs FAQ or with your e-mail provider as in the case of Gmail. Then select "Next".

In the Account Wizard "User Names" window, fill in the required infromation. This is normally the Username of the e-mail account holder.

In the Account Wizard "Account Name" window, fill in the required infromation. I is normal to use the e-mail addresss as the account name. This make for easy tracking if you have multiple e-mail accounts.

In the Account Wizard "Congratulations" window, select the "Download messages now" radio button. Then select "Finish".

The Account Wizard window should close revealing Thunderbird. Thunderbird will now attempt do download your e-mail from the account you just established.

How to test

Send and E-mail to yourself to verify that the configuration is correct. If this does not work check with you ISP or e-mail providers Mail Setup help pages.
