Using rpm.livna.org in FC6 and later
Ananconda, the installer for Fedora Core, is capable of using external RPM repositories during install. It's quite easy to use. Follow the steps below to add the livna repository during you install decreasing the amount of time required to setup your system.
Requirements
- Fedora Core 6+ Installation Media either CD or DVD.
- An active internet connection is required during the
installation.
Doing the work
- Start your installation as normal, and proceed through your
installation utilizing the Fedora Core 6 Installation Guide.
-
When you hit the general software selection screen in anaconda enable Fedora Extras by clicking on the Checkbox in front of it:

-
Now add the rpm.livna.org repository by clicking on the button "Add additional software repositories". An "Add Repository" window will be displayed.
-
In the "Repository name" area enter "rpm.livna.org", then in the "Repository URL" field enter the proper url for rpm.livna.org. That's "http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/6/i386" for Fedora Core 6 on an i386-machine: Note: For an x86_64- or PPC-machine simply insert "x86_64" or "ppc" instead of i386.

-
After that select the "Customize now" checkbox and click on "Next". You'll be led to the next screen where you can customize what packages get installed. A lot of Livna's packages can be found in the "Applications" section and the subgroup "Sound and Video".

Note: There is a small bug in ananconda or in the comps.xml used by livna. This bug prevents the pre-selection of some packages to be installed by default. You will have to enable the group with the base livna support manually to get the yum repo files for rpm.livna.org:

-
The repository won't be enabled or used in the installed system if you forget this, but you can fix it simply by installing the livna-release package later.
